Coloured Gems

We have excelled at designing and manufacturing custom jewellery that is set with coloured gemstones for more than 40 years. Every coloured gemstone is unique and beautiful in its own way. We enjoy the challenge of designing a piece that will show off the gem’s natural beauty. Often clients don’t fully know what design they are looking for when they visit Troy Shoppe Jewellers. Our jewellery experts will work with you to design the perfect piece. As you browse the items on this page, you will see the unique designs that we have created over the years. We have designed a pendant shaped like an atom to celebrate a student’s graduation from university, a unique halo and emerald engagement ring, a sapphire anniversary band, beautiful pearl earrings, and many other stunning pieces. Our goal is to create jewellery that will be enjoyed for many years to come.

Custom Design Process

Many of our clients have inherited jewellery that has sentimental value but that is not their style. We will help to design a piece that will complement the gemstone and is a style that they will enjoy wearing. You are welcome to make an appointment with the jeweller so that he can assess your coloured gemstones and help you to design a new custom piece. He will also match your gemstone(s) as best possible if more are needed for the new design. Re-setting coloured gemstones into a new piece is a wonderful way to repurpose jewellery that has special memories and meaning attached to it. 

Troy Shoppe Jewellers has Calgary’s largest inventory of coloured gems. We carry classic gemstones such as rubies, sapphires, and emeralds. However, we also carry rarer gemstones such as Alexandrite, Tsavorite garnet, Paraiba tourmaline, Padparadscha sapphires, Tanzanite, and more. Our jewellery experts will help you to select the perfect gemstones for your new custom piece. We encourage you to bring any design inspirations with you such as pictures and Pinterest boards. If you don’t have an idea, no problem, we will work out something with your input. Once we have perfected the design for the new piece, we will give you an estimate and a timeframe for completion. We enjoy the opportunity to make the most beautiful gemstone rings in Calgary.

Custom Family Jewellery

We are often asked to create custom pieces that incorporate the birthstones of family members. Family rings and pendants are a great opportunity to get creative. Once we have determined the birthstones that will be used, we will work with you to create a design that reflects your style. It’s important to us to design something that celebrates your family in a style that you will love.
