Knife Edge Diamond Wedding Bands

Knife Edge Diamond Wedding Bands
This client came into our store with a ring that they already had. The ring had diamonds on the top and sides of the ring and the client did not want to cover up all of her diamonds. That was a feature she loved about her engagement ring. And she wanted two bands made up to balance her set. The rings were made in platinum and pave set with diamonds. The 'trick' was to make the bands in what we call a knife edge profile. That means the rings form an inverted V on the finger so that the diamonds are set on a slope. The effect is to allow the diamonds on the engagement ring to show and in fact, mirror against the band to look like more diamonds. That can't be a problem. Another benefit is that with a sloped profile, the diamonds on the bands and engagement ring do not scrape each other so there is less chance of one chipping against the other. Try our fun Web-App!
