I have no idea how this happened. It appears the ring was caught in a home safe door or similar and then was closed on the ring. Luckily, the ring was not on the client’s hand at the time. This was a complex ring to remake due to all the diamond setting work. When it was done, the version we made from scratch was slightly heavier and used a few more diamonds but turned out better than the original.
