Are you looking to have a watch repaired in Calgary? The bane of any jewellers’ existence is often a watch repair. Yes, we do watch repairs and the reason they can be a problem is that we cannot guarantee a time frame for completion. One of the most common watch repairs is replacing a dead battery with a new one. Watches have become increasingly complex over the years and while we will try to replace the battery right away, there are certain brands that we will have to send to our watchmaker as we may not have the necessary tools to work with the watch.
Cleaning and Servicing
Have you noticed that the battery in your watch is only lasting 6 months or less? This is an indication that the movement within your watch may need to be cleaned and serviced. We will have our watchmaker examine your watch and we will provide you with a free estimate. It takes approximately one week to get the estimate and then one to two weeks following your approval to have the repair completed. We will call you as soon as it is finished.
New Crystal and Replacement Parts
The face of your watch may become scratched over the years. If it gets too bad, you may consider replacing the crystal. We will have our watchmaker examine your watch and determine whether it is possible to replace the crystal. We will provide you with a free estimate for the cost of the repair.
Occasionally, we may need to order replacement parts for your watch. This can be a very slow process as many watch manufacturers are extremely slow with service and sending out parts. This process can take anywhere from weeks to months depending on the availability of parts. We will provide you with a timeframe once we have heard from the manufacturer.
