This super sweet young woman came in with some jewellery that she inherited. Unfortunately, none of it was styles she would wear or use. We checked over the gemstones and found the blue gemstone was a synthetic sapphire and many of the diamonds were a bit lower in quality. However, we knew if they were pave set, the diminished quality would be minimized by the setting. After coming up with a modification to one of our designs, we removed most of the diamonds and set them into the new ring. She also received a credit for the value of her old gold jewellery so that a completely new design she would wear was made at a cost that was a fraction of what a new ring like it would have cost. Best of all she gets to wear an item that now has sentimental value as well.
