This ring was a family heirloom. It was made of 18K yellow gold and a platinum top that had about 70 old rose cut diamonds, all of which were on the verge of falling out. To restore the ring, platinum was built up on the top using a laser. Once the metal was restored to a reasonable thickness, the shank was replaced with a thicker new piece. Lastly, every diamond was reset and all the beaded edges were restored. The ring looked amazing when it was finished. The whole job took over 20 hours of work to accomplish but the smile on our clients face was worth every minute of the effort.
