The sapphire used in this custom design is referred to as padparadscha. This sapphire is named after the far east lotus blossom for its salmon pink color. This sapphire can vary from pinkish to more orange but it should always have a combination of both colors. It is quite rare. I have had three of these in 30 plus years. The best way to describe the color would be the pinkish orange of a sunset.
